For the unleashed freerider, this insulated jacket has a soft-shell core with burly hard-shell reinforcements to allow amplified motion in shaky weather. During high-output endeavors, its supple polyester ripstop fabric affords decidedly breathable performance and water-resistance. Two-layer waterproof panels, made from 100% recycled polyester dobbyweave, beef up the shoulders and arms to increase abrasion-resistance. A lightweight layer of compressible polyester (90% recycled) insulation warms the jacket. Finer points include an easy-gliding liner, adjustable powder skirt with webbing loops that attach to any Patagonia® ski/snowboard pants, removable 2-way-adjustable hood, handwarmer pockets, a zippered chest pocket (holds an audio device) and a pocket on the left sleeve and one inside. The very best fishing jacket made!! Bought this SST for my wife, not only because Altrec has offered a great price (30% off) for the best jacket on earth for cold, wet fishing conditions, but also because the SST excels as a bombproof, lightweight, weatherproof jacket for many outdoor activities in foul conditions. The women's SST is identical to the men's except for its color and a bit trimmer cut. Design, workmanship, and materials are outstanding, and it is one of Patagonia's highest regarded products. A real bargain with Altrec's current sale of 30% off. Researching the SST, I learned that this jacket has been around for years with little or no change, with high praise reported by its users. In fact, can't recall any negative comments regarding the SST's quality. As of a year or so ago, Patagonia did introduce a few improvements to make the SST even more storm worthy and functional. If your considering this jacket but unsure if it's worth the price, don't miss this 30% off deal without researching the SST's history and quality further, at Patagonia's website & via google.
