No sweaty back from this pack Two hikes with the new pack so far, I like the net that keeps the pack off my back. So far the only negative is that the bladder hose hole is a bit too small for my camelbak bite valve to squeeze through, so I have to force it through. Otherwise, nice day pack.

Great system After forty years of hiking around the country I came across a well designed system for my needs. My first outing I found plenty of space for camera, first aid, and survival equipment. It was very comfortable and both hiking partners were surprised at the pack and are purchasing one this week.

Great Value I picked this pack up last minute at REI for an 18 mile trip to Mount Timpanogos with my scout troop. I needed a pack to carry a down jacket, water filter, extra food, lamp, first aid, camera etc... There was plenty of room to spare. I could take this on overnighters as well and leave the Dana Alpine at home. The pack was light, cool and fit very comfortably. The hip belt has a small pocket that is too tight for snacks, but it holds a Canon Elph camera perfectly;-) The hip belt adjustment is really easy to use. The handle between the two shoulder straps is a nice touch as well, as is the stash pocket. The only awkward element to the pack was the hydration system pocket. It sits low within the bag and does not have a hanger from which to suspend a camelback bladder. As a result, the hose was a bit short coming out of the pack. I'm sure this is not an issue if you have the Deuter hydration system. I also had difficulty reaching into the side pockets while on the trail. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
