Salomon: Knight Skis

While traditionalists immediately think of the X-Wing when they talk about Salomon all-mountain skis, they sometimes forget about the durable Salomon Knight. It's an all-mountain twin that's part of the Salomon Freeski collection. The differences are in the 210-mm. rocker and the twin-tip shape. The Knight uses Salomon's Rocker Technology, a model-specific reverse camber near the tip that gives the Knight ski excellent floatation properties without compromising all-mountain turning potential. Compared to other reverse-camber skis in the Salomon Freeski collection, the Knight ties for smallest range of rocker tip but this gives it a traditional ski camber beneath the binding, so the ski keeps better contact (that's less chatter or flutter) with the snow on groomed runs than a lot of other wide-body skis with more reverse camber. The end result is a twin-tip ski with excellent floatation, but less rattle on hardpack than skis like the Shogun, Czar or Rocker. Along the base of the Knight you'll find Salomon's high-molecular-density Ptex 2000 base, one of the toughest performance ski bases currently on the market. If you want a tough twin that won't thrash around on compact snow, the Knight is always ready to joust with tough ski conditions.
